The Item I purchased was a different revision than the one I chose. Fortunately it still worked. I’m not sure why the TX1500E that I purchased was different but the one I “wanted” had an exernal oushbotton light that I really liked in the unit upstairs. The one that shipped did not have a external button for backlight and also has a humidity indicator that I find useless.

After working for about 2 years, the unit became unstable and can’t be programmed in the 5 days position. While trying to get it to work, the unit locked up entirely. I finally noticed a tiny “lock” icon which apparently meant that the keyboard was locked. Great, how do I unlock the keys as there were no information about ‘locking’ on the instructions printed on the lid? After 20 minutes of frustration, I gave up and searched the web for help. Thankfully, someone had the same problem. The command to unlock required “3 hits of the Next key followed by HOlD”. Why wasn’t this vital info not included with the lid instruction? I was able to unlocked the keys, but the same problem persisted. The programming mode still won’t work on the 5 day position. Now I wonder if there is another secret command I am missing.
On top of this, the LED backpanel light would go off after 20 seconds,
requiring repeated actuation during programming. What idiot decided that 20 seconds is adequate to program 12 start times and set 12 temperatures using up/down toggle keys?
It is apparent that Lux isn’t concerned about customer satisfaction–which means group testing the product user interface and making sure the commands are comprehensively documented before releasing it to the world. I will be looking for a new manufacturer, hoping one that knows how to design consumer products.

Bought 2 of them about 8 years ago to replace manual Honeywells.
Dial switch (big round thing on the left) stopped working properly after 2 years – just doesn’t fix itself in a proper position. On both units!
Since there is no daylight time adjustment button (or something like that), twice a year a have a pleasant task of trying to set dial switch in a position where it would allow me to set time. Normally it’s 1/4″ before time mark, but just try catching it there!
Are those things supposed to last for couple years? Good old Honeywells worked for almoust 20 years before I decided to get fancy and replaced them with this junk.
